Briana Davis, a 9-year-old Suffolk County girl, is fighting for her life in Jamaica Hospital; she was viciously attacked by her own mother, said police. The victim was stabbed in the back and head multiple times by the woman whose identity was not immediately released.
According to the details, police took the visiting mother into custody while from a Queens’ apartment and launched a vicious attack on her daughter. Police said, the child was first treated at a Springfield Gardens home by the Emergency Medical Service Workers. However, later she was brought at the said Jamaica Hospital; in pretty serious condition, further revealed the police report.
The incident occurred in the quiet area of Queens at around 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the said house which police believed mother and daughter shared temporarily; police said that originally, the pair belongs to Haiti. Meanwhile, the little girl’s saviour was a man who was in the home at the time of attack, identified by cops as George Anthony. The man not only intervened to save the child but also held the mother; until police arrived at the scene.
A statement by Raymond Kelly, the NYPD Commissioner, suggested that the motive, the reason and the facts were being figured out by authorities. During a press conference, the commissioner conveyed that a knife was also recovered at the scene while further investigations were underway Tuesday afternoon. Kelly further informed that George Anthony also ended up with slight injuries i.e. a cut (knife-wound) on his leg.
According to a neighbour, the poor victim was flailing both arms while being carried out to ambulance by paramedics. The paramedics had wrapped the little girl using a gore-soaked bed sheet, further added the neighbour. Following the stabbing report from family, the mother was arrested and brought to the 105th Precinct.
