The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has formally announced the effectivity of 3-month suspension to Tulfo brothers' television program in one of the major television networks of the country.
It was implemented shortly after they threatened and bashed the coupleand Claudine Baretto last May 7 in their television show "T3 Kapatid, Sagot Kita" on TV5 because of the Santiago/Baretto-Mon Tulfo duel on NAIA recently. Mon was the oldest and he was a columnnist and broadcaster.
According to MTRCB, Erwin, Raffy and Ben may be sued due to violating Section 3(c) of Presidential Decree 1986 after "airing scenes and utterances" that are impartial and indecent.
The agency added that the scenes and utterances made by the hosts of the show are "with a dangerous tendency to encourage the commission of violence or of a wrong or crime."
Santiago and Baretto was happy with the decision. Their legal counsel said that they may take legal actions against the three aside from Mon Tulfo.
On the other hand, TV5 expressed their dismay towards the decision. The management said that the agency was too hard on them and the show doesn't deserve the sanction.
After the 3-month suspension rule, the program will also undergo to probation or per-episode permit to monitor if they will violate ethical standards in broadcasting.
