A Dutch entrepreneur Jim Helfens has set in motion his revolutionary concept of divorce over the weekend as reported in mailonline dated the 29th of May 2012.
Instead of a long drawn out legal process, he wants to settle the issue in the shortest possible time – preferably over a weekend - and wants would-be candidates to book into his ‘Divorce Hotel’.
His concept is to get together both the parties under one roof – not necessarily in the same room.
Along with the couple who are determined to part ways, there would be the mediators and lawyers in attendance to clarify all doubts regarding alimony, responsibility of children etcetera so that all the loose ends are tied up properly.
Once the final terms of settlement are agreed upon and the document finalized and signed, the couple can go their separate ways armed with the copies of the document.
All they would have to then do is to approach the competent authority, namely a Judge, for ratification.
