U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta said the U.S. was willing to do everything to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.

In an interview on ABC News Radio on 28.5, Mr. Panetta said: "Wehave a plan ready in case of force majeure to protect themselves."Statements are consistent with earlier claims of U.S. Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro that a military strike option "always on the table" and the planning has been conducted. However, the ministersaid Washington still hoped Panetta controversy concerningTehran's nuclear program would be resolved "by diplomacy".
