Just more than a week after Facebook co-founder and CEO, Mark Zuckerberg brought his company to public for IPO trading and then married his long- time girlfriend, here is another good news about the company to launch its own smartphone by next year.
As cited from the New York Times posted May 27, 2012, it reported that Facebook Inc. has already hired high caliber engineers to make up the team in coming up with the project. The more than half a dozen hired season engineers were former software and hardware engineers who worked on Apple’s iPhone and iPad. Now for Facebook smartphone, they will be designing the shape, style and inner workings of it.
The report also said that this year would be the company’s third attempt to come up with a smartphone as its previous attempts have crumbled. Originally, the company thought it could figure out hardware on its own.
“Mark is worried that if he doesn’t create a mobile phone in the near future that Facebook will simply become an app on other mobile platforms,” a Facebook employee told Nick Bilton of New York Times.
But what if Facebook will again fail this time provided that it has already set up its own team of engineers? Read full report here.
