France's President Sarkozy, Germany's Chancellor Merkel and Italy's PM Monti meet in Brussels

The French newspaper Le Figaro on Saturday, quoting government sources, the Italian leaders of France, Germany, Spain and Italy will meet in Rome on June 22 for talks on the crisis in the euro area.

It was suggested that Italian Prime Minister Mario Monti held a meeting with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Olond and Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy, but there were difficulties in setting a date.

Merkel expressed lukewarm welcome the idea Monte said that it is necessary to clarify the relevant issues before a summit of the comprehensive European Union on 28 and June 29. as Reuters reported Le Figaro said, "quadripartite meeting on Europe may be in Rome on June 22 after the elections of Greece and France."

The Greeks go to the polls on June 17 in a new general election, many fear it could lead to repeal of the Government of the international assistance program and lead to the withdrawal of Greece from the euro zone.

According AFP ,France parliamentary elections take place on the same day where he hopes the new Socialist President to win a majority of leftists would help in the implementation of his plan for taxes and spending. A spokesman could not confirm the date the Office of Monte quadripartite meeting but said he thought it would be after June 17.
