Full Match: IPL 2012 - CSK vs KKR, Match 41

Shah Rukh Khan is finally happy with his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), as the KKR have managed to lift the trophy of Indian Premiere League (IPL) season 5. They won the final against MS Dhoni’s Chennai Super King (CSK) last night, winning the title for the first time.

The match began after the Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to bat first. The Super Kings, with their strong batting order, summed up 190 runs on the scoreboard in twenty overs, with Suresh Raina making most runs in the team - 73. Raina's blitzkrieg and Australian all-rounder Mike Hussey's priceless knock helped defending champions CSK post a commendable 190 for three against the Knight Riders in the final of the 5th edition of the Indian Premier League.

The Knight Riders made three bowling changes in their new squad, but despite that they were not able to contain the Super King’s batsmen below 190. Moreover, in the first half of the game it seemed that the Super Kings would for the third time consecutively bring the cup home. But the Knight Riders' Manvinder Bisla shattered their dreams by scoring 89 off just 47 deliveries. The motivating start provided to the Knight Riders by Bisla made the win look easier. But Bisla’s fall of wicket at the crucial time once again brought another twist into the game. Finally, in the last over of the match, it all came down to 9 off 6 balls. It was then Shakib al Hassan and Manoj Tiwari who lifted their team to the winning position with 2 balls to spare.

The Chennai crowd went silent after the Knight Riders won their first ever Indian Premier League. The Chennai fans in the crowd were seen throwing bottles and tearing placards after the loss. Meanwhile, the KKRs cheered and enjoyed the loud music and fireworks after the presentation.

Former KKR captain Sourav Ganguly, in his pre-match interview, expressed that despite CSKs' good records in the previous finals, Shah Rukh Khan’s KKR was the favorite team to win the final.

The KKR is the team of most experienced as well as expensive players of the league.
