London, 27 May, 2012:

Wherever, the British royal couple Duchess Catherine and Prince William go, large crowds surges towards them. Kate Middleton particularly has a presence that immediately galvanizes a gathering. But, the Duchess of Cambridge's high profile also makes her and her husband vulnerable to kidnap by unscrupulous elements.

As per latest reports, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been put on a grueling SAS anti-kidnap training course. The move comes against the back-drop of fears being expressed that Will and Kate will be targeted during the ongoing Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations and London Olympics.

The SAS training course is a personal protection program run by members of the Special Air Service, Scotland Yard's personal protection squad, and MI5. The course is considered to be challenging both physically and mentally. It gives training in key survival skills such as sensing anything unusual in the surroundings, driving under pressure, developing a relationship with the hostage-taker, and stealthily passing messages in code.

The training is routine for royals, VIPs and even high profile persons working in dangerous countries. In fact, when Prince William was 16-years-old he took the course. He was trained to handle a submachine gun and even bundled into a vehicle in a mock ambush.

Apparently, Prince William and Kate Middleton have made several visits to the Special Air Services (SAS) headquarters in Hereford to be trained in the event of terrorists trying to abduct them. William and Kate were being schooled in survival skills, handling guns and prepare for all eventualities.

One inside source told the Daily Star: "Kate and William have been to the base a couple of times. It is beyond top secret … She got a bit scared with the bangs going off so they took it a bit easy for her.”

However, the future heir to the British throne took the course very well. "William thought it was great, being a military man himself. The SAS didn't want to terrify the life out of them but these guys are not the most delicate of creatures," added the insider.

Reportedly William and Kate astounded the team with their professional approach. The couple "took it all in their stride,” opined the insider. Some of the weapons the young royals will have been trained in include the SAS choice, the Browning 9mm automatic handgun and the 9mm Glock automatic often seen with UK police.

It's rather sad to read sth like "when Prince William was 16-years-old he took the course. He was trained to handle a submachine gun and even bundled into a vehicle in a mock ambush." The world we created is quite pathetic. But the only one we have.

Well, everything in life comes
with a price tag...as future
heir to the British throne,
the Govt there has to ensure
that Prince William is safe
at all costs...the training
at such a young age will stand
him good stead now and in future
too. As for the world we have
created...its a sad reality
which we now have to live
with. Thanks for dropping by
Bea... appreciate the feedback.

Thank you for sharing the news report. The Summer Olympics do not need another incident like what happened in Munich Germany in 1972.
