On Thursday afternoon, Troop H State Police in CT got a call from alarmed DCF workers from the facility on Hudson St. saying that there was a bomb in the building. You know that sinking feeling and horrible panicky feeling you get when dealing with the DCF, they must have finally found out what the feeling was like.
After an investigation the state police identified the woman caller as Kelly McKinney, 47 of East Hampton. While this was happening state police responded to the CT DCF building on Hudson St. and evacuated all the people out of it. You know, because the DCF workers in CT are so smart they wouldn’t be able to find the exit’s on their own and needed assistance.
State troopers from Troop H then conducted a search of the building and no bomb was found. How would state police search a building of this size and determine that there was not a bomb anywhere in there? I mean if the woman had admitted it was just a threat that is one thing, but for the state police to definitively say they searched the building and are sure no bomb was in it, I call BS. What really happened were the state troopers were standing inside yelling at the DCF workers, stop pushing, follow the bright red signs, please open the doors before trying to exit them, corralling the DCF workers out like cattle and an entire day was wasted.
McKinney when asked did admit to phoning in the bomb threat and was arrested and charged with:
Ok, I made that last charge up, she wasn’t charged with doing a public service but she should have been. DCF puts these fears and even worse ones into people everyday, now while I do not condone what McKinney did, I must applaud her for not really bombing the DCF, I am sure that plenty of people have wanted to.
The news story I read reported that McKinney, who has a number of prior convictions for non-violent crimes (which has no relevancy to this story, and actually makes me curious) said, ”she wanted to cause panic and alarm at DCF due to her frustration at what she believed was their inaction on calls she’s made to them recently regarding child neglect.”
A property manager at the East Hampton address McKinney listed as her home told Eye Witness News that he’s seen McKinney there a few times but said that the children who live there are not hers.
She was held on $25,000 bond and was expected to appear in court Friday.
So now on to 2 additional things, does this mean when DCF comes into our homes and threatens to take our children away from us and never let us see them again, should be charged with; harassment, Breach of Peace and Threatening? I say yes, because that is exactly what the DCF does, they disturb the peace, they harass people and then threaten them.
Secondly, was she really convicted of a number of prior non0violent crimes? Hell yeah she was holy crap look at this, she was arrested and convicted over 10 times!!
All I can say is wow, that is a lot of larceny…
