Man arrested for drunk driving has pet zebra and parrot in passenger's seat

Jerald Reiter is a 55-year old farmer from Dubuque, Iowa - located on the border with Illinois and Wisconsin and two of his regular companions are a three-month-old zebra named PeeWee and a parrot named Izzy as reported in dated 24th of May 2012.

It seems Jerald was in the habit of taking these pets with him whenever he went to a bar because some of the bars did not mind pets accompanying the patrons.

This has been disputed by the Dog House Lounge who has insisted that despite its name, it does not even allow dogs into its premises.

However, on this particular occasion, Jerald was stopped on in the car park of the Dog House Lounge on suspicion of drunk driving. It seems his blood alcohol level was 0.14, which is nearly twice the permissible legal limit of Iowa.

The unusual passengers were occupying the front seat.

Anyway, all is well that ends well and Jerald was let off in the morning after spending the night in the Dubuque County Jail.
