The 2012 American Idol winner will be known when America's votes comes in for duel battle between Idol contestants Jessica Sanchez vs Phillip Phillips. Later on tonight American Idol finale winner will be announced by Idol host Ryan Seacrest on who will be the victorious contestant between Jessica Sanchez and Phillip Phillips.

Last week Jessica Sanchez zoomed in as the first finalist on Idol top 2 despite zero standing ovation but earned good reviews from the three judges, Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson. But last week performances is not much critical than last night's American Idol finale. As usual, Idol judges offered their varied opinions for the final performances on Sanchez and Phillips but their impact is limited to potentially swaying audience votes.

On American Idol finale recap in the first round, the two Idol finalists sang Simon Fuller’s song choice. Jessica went first singing, Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing”, that gives a nod from Randy Jackson, and Jennifer Lopez says its hard to call but slightly swayed in favor of 16-year old Filipina-Mexican-American. Phillip Phillips sang the Ben E. King classic “Stand By Me”.

Idol winner from the judge: Randy Jackson says the first round went to Sanchez.

For round two, the Idol contestants sang their favorite song of the season. Sanchez performed "The Prayer," a Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli iconic duet piece. Phillip went with “Movin’ Out” by Billy Joel which according to ABC News blog, "moody and strong performance, but it lacked the “wow” factor of Jessica’s offering this round."

Idol winner: Steven Tyler said Sanchez took round two, while Lopez said Phillips owned it. Jackson thought both were even on this round.

Hollywood Reporter comments on Jessica's rendition, "it was soul-stirring and pitch-perfect, showing all the colors of her multi-dimensional voice: the lilting soprano, the rich Beyonce-esque vibrato, the maturity beyond her years."

Finally in the third round, Jessica and Phillip performed an original song that would be single in their future albums as the new American Idol winner. Jessica went on singing her potential winning song, “Change Nothing” while Phillip’s potential winning song “Home” featured intricate guitar strumming and picking.

Idol winner: Phillips earned the only standing ovation from the judges while Sanchez fell flat with the judges.

HR says that Phillips, the Georgia alt-rocker gets lucky with one of the best original songs in the show's 10-year history. The 2012 American Idol winner will be chosen by viewers and fans votes by phone, text and online after the show ended on Tuesday.

So, Jessica Sanchez lost it if we based on TV critics review, but remember the past American Idol shocker, where America loves an underdog when it comes to reality music competitions. Learn to those of David Archuletas and Adam Lamberts and Clay Aikens that defy all logic. With that said, Jessica Sanchez might win the American Idol crown.
