Ship Dragon first private spaceship went to the ISS

ship Dragon from Cape Canaveral launched rocket Falcon-9 with a cargo ship Dragon, owned by a private aerospace company SpaceX.Under a contract with NASA, Dragon has to deliver the cargo to the ISS. After 11 minutes the ship was separated from the launch vehicle and opened the solar panels. Thus, according to experts, the first phase of the mission is completed.



Dragon was the first private spacecraft, which was allowed to dock to the International Space Station, according to the website SpaceX. At this time the ship will deliver to the ISS food, scientific equipment and materials for experiments obtained, including from American students.



The company SpaceX was founded in June 2002, Elon Musk, the founder of the payment system PayPal.The first success of the company - a contract in 2005 with the Centre for missile and space systems for the U.S. Air Force found to orbit military satellites.



In 2006 it was announced that SpaceX won the tender for the right to deliver cargo to the ISS, NASA announced. Alignment and test runs took several years. NASA was allowed to dock with the ISS until the end of 2011. Now, SpaceX will have 12 staff missions to deliver cargo. Dragon spacecraft in orbit can deliver up to 6 tons of payload to the ground and take up to 3 tons.
