Jenna Talackova, Transgender Miss Universe Canada Contestant Eliminated

The Miss Universe pageant has allowed transgenders, transgender women particularly, to take part in its competitions. Jenna Talackova is the first to qualify and participate. Talackova, 23-years-old, is from Canada and has underwent gender reassignment surgery when she was still 19 years of age.

Talackova was initially disqualified because she is not a naturally born woman, but Donald Trump, owner of the Miss Universe Organization, reinstated her. She ended bagging the 2nd runner-up title in the Miss Universe Canda held on May 17, 2012 in Toronto.
