Amour triumphs at Cannes Film Festival!

Amour premiered today, Sunday May 20, 2012 at the 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

Representing the film “Amour” at Cannes were actors Emmanuelle Riva, Isabelle Huppert and Jean-Louis Trintignant as well as director Michael Haneke, who braved the slick red carpet after the rain, ruining a good shoe or two…

French film “Amour” is about Georges (played by Jean-Louis Trintignant) and Anne (played by Emmanuelle Riva) who are in their eighties and retired music teachers. Their daughter Eve, played by Isabelle Huppert, is also a musician and lives away from them overseas with her family. The turning point comes when Anne has a heart attack and the couple's bond of love is tested…

Making a mark at the Amour premiere was singer Cheryl Cole who attended in a stunning two-tone red and white gown, with the skirt portion having a long red marabou feather train. She accessorized with a red evening clutch bag.

The micro mini white dress on French actor Samuel Le Bihan’s wife Daniela Bihan also featured a marabou skirt, though a lot less of it…

Another stunning red and white creation appeared on model Erin Wasson, whose dress featured a lovely embroidered floral detailing.

The beaded black lace gown on French model and actress Berenice Marlohe was quite stunning and that diamond necklace certainly spelled success. Chinese model Liu Wen didn’t do all that poorly in her scoop neck black gown either…

Though not its film director, Roman Polanski attended the Amour premiere in his sharp tux along with an army of directors including Elia Suleymane, Chen Kaige, Walter Salles, Claude Lelouche, David Cronenberg and Jean-Pierre et Luc Dardennes.

Also attending the Amour premiere were French actor Philippe Caroit, Phoebe Price (loved the psychedelic print dress and gold jacket!), Angela Ismailos, Aissa Maiga, Diane Kruger and Jean Paul Gaultier. Enjoy the slide show…
