Timor-Leste new President Taur Matan Ruak to deepen bilateral ties to China

Former guerrilla and defence chief Taur Matan Ruak has won East Timor's run-off presidential vote

China has another Asian nation ally with Timor-Leste as new elected President Taur Matan Ruak on Sunday willing to deepen the bilateral ties of the two nation.

Ruak who meet the Chinese envoy Wang Zhizhen expressed his satisfaction after the two had a meeting on the assistance offered by China government to Timor-Leste. Timor-Leste will continue to stick to the one-China policy and support China on issues related to China's core intersts in his 5 year term as a president.

China expects closer cooperation with Timor-Leste in such fields as economy and trade, agriculture and energy. The country is willing to continue to provide assistance within its capacity for Timor-Leste. In addition to this they will help the Timor-Leste in global and regional affairs. The two countries had been a diplomatic ties 10 years ago and Ruak willing to deepen the ties with China.
