Chicago prepares for NATO summit

President Barack Obama hosts Nato summit in Chicago today. Nato leaders will address the issue of safe withdrawal of Nato troops from Afghansitan while ensuring that the war-torn country will be capable enough to hold the Taliban at bay.

Due to November 2012 presidential elections and Nato leaders resistance to send more soldiers to Afghanistan, the Obama admisitration is more concerned to work out common alliance vision by pulling Nato force of around 130,000 by th end of next year, making Afghanistan an independent state for its own security..

The pressure on president Barack Obama has already been mounting up to save his election campaign. A crowd of 2500 hundred people protested against Mayer Emanuel's budget cuts and other economic issues on chicago streets near Daley plaza before the start of Nato Summit, on Friday and Saturday.

All Nato leaders are already on same page for global econmic recovery especially to protect euro-zone crisis which not only threatens the future of Europe's 17-country single currency bloc but can also negatively affect the Obama's election campaign. G8 leaders who also form Nato alliance are in no mood to increase their defense budget under severe fiscal pressures which is an another challenge for Obama's admisinitration.

France's new leader, Fracois Hollande in his last week visit to Washington said that, "Only limited number of soldiers will remain to train Afghan forces and France will bring back equipment beyond 2012". He also added that, "This decision is an act of sovereignty and must be done in good coordination with our allies and partners,"

Though Obama's admisitration is working hard to save U.S interests on national and international fronts. This is yet to see how deciscions taken in Nato summit are going to safeguard Obama's personal interests on his election campaign, in near future.
