What makes the NATO Summit and other meetings between the world leaders so great are the protests. On the eve of this year's NATO Summit in Chicago, the protesters were a little feisty this evening.
Protesters clashed with Chicago police in riot gear on State Street in front of Old Navy. The reason for the clash was due to retaliation for the police arresting three protesters making bombs this past Wednesday night.
The clash ended with 18 protesters being arrested and with one police officer being injured.
An ensuing melee occurred later on in the night at the intersection of Wacker and Monroe in which a squad car hit a protester. The protester is not at the hospital in stable condition. Some people are saying that the cop in the vehicle hit the protester maliciously, while others are saying that the cop sped off because protesters slashed a couple of tires on the squad car.
Things will begin to percolate tomorrow with the beginning of the NATO Summit.
