Below in News Stories tab I have added an interesting article about the billionaire businessman’s patience, discipline and willingness to act when others won't. Not only is he a superior investor and businessman, he is a philanthropist. A few years ago, The New York Times announced that Buffett began to donate the bulk of his $44 billion dollar fortune (about $37 billion) in July of 2006 to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. He had originally planned to wait until his death to make a sizable contribution, but several factors moved him to start sooner including the death of his wife in 2004, his admiration for the Gateses and his certainty about how to dispose of his wealth.
I got chills the day I read this and have often thought of his extraordinary generosity. This is even more impressive than his business success. He has his priorities in order, and at 77 knows what is most important in life; helping those in need. His donation will do infinitely more good for charity than it would being left to a handful of his descendants. Way to go, Warren.
