"Therefore, all the prisoners of the Lamanites (people of color) did join the people of Ammon, and did begin to labor exceedingly, tilling the ground, raising all manner of grain, and flocks and herds of every kind; and thus were the Nephites (Mormons) relieved from a great burden; yea, insomuch that they were relieved from all the prisoners of the Lamanites."
-- Alma 62:29 (Book of Mormon)
Mormons will argue that all of these racist quotes within the Book of Mormon are taken out of context. How is that possible when the majority of the Book of Mormon talks about a race war between Mormons and Lamanites?
The book of Alma takes the cake with the most racist quotes with thirty. This last verse shows that the Mormons were relieved that they forced the people of color to do their work. Look, Mormons believe in slavery and in forced labor of people of color.
