"But behold he met with a disappointment by being repulsed by Teancum and his men, for they were great warriors; for every man of Teancum did exceed the Lamanites (people of color) in their strength and in their skill of war, insomuch that they did gain advantage over the Lamanites."
-- Alma 51:31 (Book of Mormon)
In this fictional battle between the Lamanites and the Nephites, this verse claims that they were great warriors because they were able to push back the people of color in battle. It's sad that a majority of the Book of Mormon revolves around a race war.
