Facebook will be going public tomorrow, making one of the largest initial public offerings of all time. The hugely popular social networking site is hoping to raise more than $16 billion dollars, with its current valuation pegged at around $100 billion.
Now, that is what Mark Zuckerberg’s Facebook is worth to the market. But what is your value as user to FB? Would you like to know how much you are worth ? If yes, then take this easy quiz at 'Val-You Calculator.' Your responses to seven listed questions, will determine the dollar value you represent as a user.
An online privacy company called Abine has created this program called Facebook Val-You Calculator to determine just how much individual users are worth in dollars to Facebook. The program verifies a user’s worth with the aid of a set of questions pertaining to the number of friends he/she has, how often does the user “like” things, and even the user’s salary range.
According to Kristina Kennedy, VP, Marketing at Abine the reason the quiz was initiated was to raise awareness about the fact that Facebook utilizes users’ personal information to make a profit. The Abine quiz will make quiz-takers question the security of that information.
“It’s really important that people become aware of how their information is used and collected online …The Facebook IPO is making people more concerned about their privacy on Facebook,” said Kristina. The Facebook Val-You quiz was launched last week and it will be available indefinitely. It is part of a campaign Abine is running called “Go Private.”
The internet company is also starting a product called PrivacyWatch, which helps to alert users when FB changes its privacy settings. It furnishes advice from security experts on how to keep Facebook information, private. Last week, on Friday around two thousand people took the quiz. It was noted that so far the average worth per person is about $50 to Facebook.
