TEN persons were feared killed in a suspected bomb explosion on Thursday, that ruptured the peace of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. But the police in the state however, claimed that only one person died.
City dwellers are suspecting that the explosion may be the handiwork of Boko Haram, an Islamic militant group, that has been spilling blood in Northern Nigeria. The Port Harcourt explosion occurred at Rumuola, a bustling area of the capital city.
The explosion took place in a bus painted in Rivers State taxi colours- blue and white. Eyewitnesses said that the explosion occured at about 9:30am.
Police Commissioner, Rivers State Command, Mr. Mohammed Indabawa, said that one person died while two others sustained severe injuries. He, however, added that the cause of the explosion was not immediately known. ENDS
