earned amazing scores Monday night on "Dancing With the Stars", but still failed to win love of American voters. Maria Menounos was sent home even after her 59 points in the semifinal, leaving Katherine Jenkins, William Levy and to compete in the final.
Injured Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas, who scored less on the previous show, were declared safe and the opera singer appeared really excited and showed no signs of the back injury that hit her Monday night. She happily jumped up and down on the stage when she heard that she had made it to the final. Host of the show, Tom, commented, “I’m no doctor, but her back looks better now!”
Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd were with Maria and Derek in jeopardy. NFL superstar Donald Driver joined Menounos in the bottom two, although he had given wonderful performances throughout the show. Driver and Menounos went on stage with their partners for the final results. Unfortunately, it was Menounos who was sent packing. The audience booed in protest when the shocking elimination was revealed, but it was too late.
According to a people.com report, Menounos said on the show, "I learned so many things. I learned how strong I was. I learned to persevere. We didn't know our dances yesterday until we got on the floor.”
Menounos’ dance partner,, said Menounos was the reason why he loved "Dancing with the Stars". Hough also talked about Menounos’ determination to compete in the competition even after severely injuring her two ribs, foot and chin. Hough praised her dancing skills as well as her personality. According to the same report, he said, “She’s not just a champion of dancing. She’s a champion of life.”
Hough also remarked, "I love dancing with this person. Not just dancing with her, but just her as a person."
On the other hand, Menounos gave credit of her motivation to her partner, Hough. She said, "I wouldn't have made it this far without his amazing talents and choreography."
With Menounos’s elimination, Driver and dance partner Peta Murgatroyd, William Lev and Cheryl Burke and Katherine Jenkins and Mark Ballas will compete in the final next week.
Other than eliminations, a few performances entertained the crowd. Grammy winnerperformed as well as "American Idol" alum Carrie Underwood. R&B singer gave a wonderful performance as entertained the crowd with a “Rock of Ages” medley.
