The Decline of Society

It is 3:54 am April/4/2012. I sit here in my living room, my dogs asleep beside me, as I contemplate society and wonder where in the hell did all the ethics and morals go?

I grew up being told to fight for what you believe in. I was also taught to respect my fellow man, to have a conscious, to be polite, in addition to respecting my elders, although that one is debatable as lately I have yet to meet any elder that has earned my respect.

As well I was taught to follow the law, but never to take advantage of it. I am older now and quite a bit wiser, but I have noticed these days kids have no manners, and adults have become bullies that have no respect for anyone.

People would rather kill you then look at you. And nobody respects the law, because the law does not respect the citizens, rather it protects the guilty. Edmonton AB recorded a record high number of homicides, in 2011 and 2012 has already recorded 3 homicides, and we are only in the 4th month of the year. This does not bode well as there is still 20 unresolved homicides carried over from the 47 homicides recorded last year, and people wonder why this is occurring?

Well from what I can tell of society more and more people are taking the law into their own hands. And you know what - I can understand why. Just recently on a social media site, a group called "truth behind caawps" (T.B.C.) stole pictures of my dogs and their pups. They did this because I got mad at them for attacking my daughter, after they stole her pictures and began harassing her.

In addition they took part of a conversation and blew it out of proportion, without checking all their facts. They had no right to these photos, or so I thought. But when the police were called they basically told us if it is on the net they can do what they want. But actually the officer was wrong. Pictures posted on the net are copyrighted and protected by privacy laws unless marked for public use, which mine were not. So fine. I pursued all legal avenues. I reported the page to the social media site. I even called their head office and lodged a formal complaint. After days of fighting this the account was suspended for a short time, but within hours they had it back up with my pics and my daughter's up again.

So my husband tried asking them nicely to take it down, but by now these people were not only slandering me, they were slandering and harassing several other groups and individuals. So I proceeded to study the rules and regulations of the media site, and interestingly enough I found these rules:

I was warned for creating content that attacked another individual/group.

We remove content that harasses an individual or group. this site also must honor requests to remove content that draws unwanted attention to specific people. To prevent this from happening in the future, please be careful to review the content of any group you administer.

 You will not bully, intimidate, or harass any user.

 You will not post content that: is hateful, or threatening,

But yet this is exactly what the T.B.C. site was doing. so I again contacted the sites headquarters, and was not responded to. which just proved to me that this social media site does not enforce its rules and regulations and does not appear to care about it customer service base.

So I talked to someone else who I will not reveal, and they went and removed my pics. The next morning an administrator on the T.B.C. site put them back up, believing I would not say anything.

So I finally got mad and tracked this admin down I phoned this admin at home. And I blasted her and let her know that I was coming to pay her a visit. So she called the cops. Ok, fine. They talked to me when I got there, and I told them what she had done.

They advised her to take down the site and she did for about two hours, then she put it back up pics and all. Well I did what any Law abiding citizen would have done. I called the cops back, they called her and suggested she take it down. Well she did not, so they told me to take her to civil court. Ok and if I am lucky maybe in six months, a judge will hear it. Well know what I say to that???

"Screw that noise"

This woman has stolen my pictures, threatened my animals and my kid. Issues like this are what make people go over the edge. This is why I understand the want for vigilante justice, although I do not condone it. I for one am sick of my taxes paying for a police force that does nothing but sit on their hands and twiddle their thumbs. They are suppose to protect us from criminals, not condone what they are doing.

Which was the attitude I had to deal with when speaking to them about this issue. Well if they will not do their job, I can understand why other people want to!

This woman says my pics were public which is a lie unto itself. That is how she justifies her attack on my family. I look at people like this and it saddens me that society has become so cruel. No wonder we have kids stabbing each other, shooting each other, and committing suicide due to cyber bullying. They are taught it is ok to steal other people's property, and it is ok to make up lies and threaten other peoples families. And as far as the legal system goes it is frozen in bureaucy. It takes six months for the courts to even hear complaints these days, and several years to deal with it. This is preposterous.

Our justice system is highly inadequate, not just towards issue of theft but towards issues such as privacy and civil rights, cyber bullying, and so many other issues including family law. This is why there is so much violence today.

The law will not protect you so you must protect yourself and your family. They will happily prosecute you, but if they had done their job properly in the first place, they would have nothing to prosecute you for. If they expect us to obey the law, then they damn well better start going after the ones who begins the offence in the first place and deal with it, rather than sitting on their asses, twiddling their thumbs and counting the stars. It is called aggravated assault for a reason, because somebody like the person who attacked me, decided to push the limits, and push someone like me over the edge. If these people do not want trouble they should not start what they cannot finish.

They hide behind their computers, and commit these atrocious acts. Do you want to know what I had to resort to in order to stop their attack? I told the officers it would be very easy for me to track these peoples IP addresses, and trace that back to their home addresses, and get their phone numbers, and names. Then I would post their info all over the internet. They did it to me so all is fair in love and war right?

The cop tried telling me I could not do that, and I threw his words back in his face, if it is on the net I can do what I want. He said that would put them in danger, and I informed him them posting my animals pictures on the net, along with my info, put my family in danger.

And I told him do your job and put a stop to this or I will do it for you. They finally warned the people I was very capable of this, and made them pull the entire site down.

Now these people have posted my pics on other places, but I am happy to report when I went to those other places and informed them they pulled them off immediately. What bothers me is the extremes I had to go to in order to stop this viciousness. It should have never gone this far. We are not kids, we are adults. And you damn rights, you attack my family, my kids, or my animals and I will fight back. Now I am proud to say I did not actually resort to physical violence to stop this. I am capable of it but I try to find a better way.

We have parents murdering their own kids, or watching as someone else does it. We have convicted sex offenders being set free to prey upon the innocent. We have kids and adults alike strangling animals and posting it on the internet. They stage dog fights, or beat baby seals to death, an act which our own government condones. This is sick what the hell has happened to old fashioned ideals and morals?

Maybe the wild west had it right after all, hanging for psycho’s like this should be brought back. Then maybe the ethics in our world would be reawakened although I doubt it. Because society is beyond repair, we give Sodom and Gomorrah a run for their money. I use to believe in the basic goodness of people, but the more I watch people these days the sadder I get, and the more mistrusting I become.

Manners and values are non-existent anymore, even amongst family. One disagreement and the whole pack turns on you like vultures waiting tear you apart. There is no respect or caring left in this world. We have become so desensitized to the volatile nature of mankind that it has overcome our common sense. Maybe video games and movies have an impact, but wise up people and learn the difference between fantasy and reality. This is not the movie's faults or game's. If you think it is violent do not watch it, or realize it is just a movie it does not have to be carried out in real life. Take the violent video games away from your kids, and do not let them watch violent movies, especially when they are young.

We no longer need soap operas we live in one there was a time when one would stop and happily help their fellow man Now they drive by why? because they are afraid of being carjacked, or stabbed or shot, even cab drivers are terrified of picking up fares, because they never know if they will walk away from it alive.

It is no longer safe to drive a bus for a living for you could be attacked while on the job, and so it goes on.

Our children are no longer safe at school. A place of learning has become a place of nightmares. It is sad when our kids need to go through metal detectors and searches before they can go to class. Our entire world is falling apart and it takes more than one voice to stop it, in order to make a difference we have to join up. This is a worldwide epidemic and it is time to wake up and start to realize how far we have fallen. Now is the time to speak up and try to save our world instead of teaching our younger generation how to destroy it and themselves. So I implore of you do not ignore this article let it be your inspiration to do better, and make this world a better place one voice at a time.
