Denver--
I am still in Denver and I am downtown..
City workers have been working all day to clean up the streets around the downtown area.
The Big Tent that was the home for bloggers during the DNC was down as of a short time ago.
Invesco Field is being rushed to be cleaned up for a football game in less than three days.
Footprints of the convention, while still present are slowly vanishing into the fabric of Denver.
Many locals that I have spoken to are glad to get their city back. Joanne from Littleton was telling me of the traffic jams and other assorted inconveniences that residents of this area had to endure. Parking was hard to come by any where close to Denver she was telling me.
Yet she says that she and others feel pride in knowing that Denver was the home to history this week.
Henry from Lakewood a Republican and a lifelong one at that, while he has no intention of voting for the Obama/Biden ticket, he said that he felt great pride in having the Democratic Convention in Denver.
He works downtown at a drug store and said while yes they did see some strange sights, but everyone he came in contact with was friendly and so upbeat.
He told me of a couple that came up from Key West Florida and they were so lost that when he got off work, he took them over their destination and gave them tips of where to eat and other insights that only a local would know.
Thoughout the day, I spoke to 15 people and only 4 complained about having the DNC here. The rest understood the crowd and the need to have a large security presense in Denver.
Some superficial reminders of the DNC remain here in Denver. Amazing to think that there was a convention in this city just a couple of days ago. Already the DNC/Obama pride posters etc have been replaced with Broncos support posters ...
