"She's a vulgar singer who wears only panties and a bra when she sings and she stated she is the envoy of the devil's child and that she will spread satanic teaching. This is dangerous," said Salim Alatas, the Jakarta head of hardline Islamic Defender Front (FPI) as they voiced their strong opposition Tuesday against the holding of a concert by pop starin Indonesia.
The FPI was only one of three Islamic groups in the country who were demanding the concert on June 3 be stopped because of similar reasons.
As a result, Indonesia, being the world’s ‘largest population of Muslims,’ as well as significant minorities of Christians, Buddhists and Hindus, refused to issue a permit to Lady Gaga to perform in the said concert.
But the Jakarta Post said more that 30,000 concert tickets with price ranging from 465,000 rupiah ($50.35) to 2.25 million rupiah ($240), have already been sold.
