Catholic Church Gay Scandal

We almost made it through half of the year without a priest scandal. However, the vow to stay celibant is impossible to keep. That's why it's guaranteed that a sex scandal happens every year in the Catholic Church.

This scandal is pretty huge being that a prominent Catholic priest has admitted that he slipped a few times during his priesthood. Father Thomas Williams, spokesperson for the Legionaries of Christ (Legion of Christ), admitted that he had sexual relations with a woman and has fathered a child.

At least, he wasn't molesting children. The reason why there are multiple Catholic priests involved in sexual scandals is due to an outdated tradition that priests should not marry. This tradition should be thrown out. Not allowing priests to marry is actually contradicts the Bible they claim to profess.

"Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth."

-- I Timothy 4:3 (KJV)

Almost all of the sex scandals within Catholic priests would go away when they allow for priests to marry. Until then, we will wait for the next sex scandal to happen.
