The Philippines Department of Tourism (DOT) started encouraging local travellers of the country to visit tourist spots in the northern Ilocos region and Boracay after top travel agencies in China put a halt to travelling to the Philippines of Chinese tourists.

DOT said this travel ban has greatly affected the country's tourism, but this decrease can be turned around with the help of fellow Pinoys. The government agency promoted the beaches and tourists spots in the northern region and Boracay simply because these places offer amazing sceneries, hotels and resorts. Also, the rates of expenses in travelling to these places are often affordable enough.

Check out some of the places you can visit in the northern Ilocos region and you will agree with the Philippine Department of Tourism that these places are well worth being promoted.

DOT still can't say when and if this travel ban from China will be lifted but it won't stop them from continuing to actively promote the beautiful places of the country which will truly allow all kinds of tourists to enjoy and relax.

The summer season in this country is not yet over so the agency's efforts will not be in vain. Aside from that, DOT is continuously targeting other countries in Asia, Europe and America to promote tourism in the Philippines.
