"Behold, the back pass, through the back wall, on the back side of the city. The Lamanites, or the guards of the Lamanites (people of color), by night are drunken; therefore let us send a proclamation among all this people that they gather together their flocks and herds, that they may drive them into the wilderness by night."

-- Mosiah 22:6 (Book of Mormon)

This verse is a vain attempt to claim that all people of color are alcoholics. However, if you look at the facts, pigmentation has nothing to do with being dependent to alcohol.

In a study done on alcohol in 2007, the ethnic group that was the most prone to drink alcohol is White men. It's not Native Americans, it is not Asians, it's not Black men, it's not Latino men. To attempt to establish a negative stereotype that all people of color are drunks is shameless by the Mormon faith.
