Cincinnati Ohio. Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos suffered a torn anterior crucible ligament in his right knee and will not play the rest of the 2011 regular baseball season.
Ramos was injured Saturday night in Cincinnati's Great American Ballpark when in the seventh inning he chased a passed ball in the Nationals 2-1 over the Cincinnati Reds. Wilson fell on his back and was in great pain. Wilson had to helped off the baseball field by his teammates with little weight on his right knee.
An MRI showed the ACL injury on his right knee. The Nationals have called up catcher Sandy Leon from their minor league class AA team in Harrisburg to back up catcher Jesus Flores on the roster.
