Chris Hemsworth confirmed the happy news to USA Today that Pataky gave birth to a baby girl in a London hospital on Friday night. The couple has named their daughter ‘India Rose’.
"We love the country and love the name," says the Australian actor.
Hemsworth, 28, starring in upcoming Snow White and the Huntsman, and Pataky, 35, who appeared in Fast Five, tied the knot in 2010.
According to dailymail.co.uk report, when Pataky broke the news of her pregnancy last year, she had said that she was really happy about her upcoming bundle of joy. She also said that she was lucky to have Hemsworth in her life. She said, “Chris and I are delighted, very happy and excited. Having the person that you love by your side, and starting a family with them is the best thing that can happen to you in this life. You can’t ask for more. I want to have a big family, and so does Chris. My dream is to have more than one child.”
Hemsworth plays the character Thor in the hit superhero movie, “The Avengers.” The movie has made more than $800 million worldwide and is still ruling the charts of Box office. On the other hand, the Spanish actress has taken up roles in American movies like “Snakes On A Plane,” “Fast Five,” and “Snowflake, The White Gorilla.”
According to dailymail.co.uk report, Elsa said she plans to speak to the baby in Spanish and joked Australian Chris would need to start learning the language on urgent basis. She was reported saying, “I'm only going to speak to the baby in Spanish. I already told my husband, 'Get ready fast with Spanish because, if not, you're not going to be able to understand what we say.”
The new dad is all set for the debut of his latest film “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which releases in theaters on June 1. His movie ‘Snow white and the huntsman’ is a fairy tale, in which he plays a man of the forest who puts his bravery skill to good use. But it is Kristen Stewart's character which takes the charge in the decisive fight and emerges as a winner. Hemsworth believes it would be a perfect movie to motivate India when she grows up.
Chris Hemsworth talks about his family environment to USA Today, he says, "Coming from a family of three boys, my mother was very much a feminist. When we would call each other 'girls,' she would say, 'What is wrong with a girl?' Girls can be strong and you have to respect that. And we should encourage more strong female leads in films."
