About the European Union (EU) announced it would send 25armored vehicles to Syria to protect UN observer groupmonitoring the cease-fire here.

Currently, a total of 150 observers here, with 105 people is notarmed, according to Xinhua. The decision was made after aconvoy of UN observers were hit 9.5 on the road to the town ofDaraa, southern Syria, leaving six soldiers were killed escort. The Wall Street Journal quoted an EU diplomat said: "The armored vehicles will be taken to Syria in the coming days."
