Yes, PDI’s Nancy Carvajal reported about the life threatening condition of Mrs. Gloria Arroyo that necessitates her treatment abroad. The present physical condition disturbing Mrs. Arroyo consists of "The choking sensation she experienced was due to the titanium implant that has protruded to her esophagus, causing her to choke," said the source as Carvajal reported.
This prompted the Pampanga lady solon currently under hospital arrest to decide to undergo Quantum Electrochemistry examination conducted by cardiologist Robert Anastacio on Arroyo at the Makati Medical Center Thursday.
She has life threatening choking episode. She also, needs a corrective surgery that should be conducted abroad as soon as possible. Arroyo’s current medical condition is delicate that no doctor in the country would touch her.
Considering the delicate medical situation of Mrs. Arroyo, as of this writing, there is no initiative to seek permission allowing her to go abroad for treatment. Definitely, should Arroyo seek permission to travel overseas, the process will involve the court having jurisdiction over Arroyo being under hospital arrest due to charges of electoral sabotage, plunder etc, appropriate government agencies and finally shall be approved by President Aquino.
Will President Aquino allow his predecessor to go abroad for medication treatment? Probably, as long as the permission will be fully justified and sought for through the appropriate channels it shall be granted. However, the decision will largely depend upon the dictates of Aquino’s conscience bringing to fore the best interest of the country and the Filipino people.
Let it be remembered that then, Senator Ninoy Aquino,Jr., father of the concurrent president had sought permission to go to the United States of America to undergo heart by-pass surgery. The senator was then, sentenced by a tribunal to die by a firing squad.
Citing humanitarian reasons and through representation and intercession of the grandmother of the present president Dona Aurora Aquino, then, President Ferdinand E. Marcos granted Aquino, Jr. the much needed permission to leave the country.
