Eva Longoria Parker Isn't Scared

The famous desperate housewife is not so desperate after all. Actress Eva Longoria has finally broken silence about her divorce from NBA star Tony Parker, who was caught cheating on her with a mutual friend in 2010. Longoria said that while she was hurt for a fraction of a second, she’s happy to move on.

Longoria, who avoided divulging over the split that made the headlines of various celebrity magazines two years back, when asked on the recent episode of the Lifetime series what advice she would give to her 14-year-old self, quickly replied, “Don’t marry that basketball player.”

She said she wanted to know the answer as to “why” he did what he did after she discovered hundreds of inappropriate text messages on his cell phone to Erin Barry, the wife of his teammate, Brent Barry. What ever the explanation was, it was never about her, Longoria said. While it didn’t make her feel any better, it sure helped her understand what her worth was and what was that she really wanted from her life.

“I am so secure in who I am. I really am. And I'm not conceited. I just think, 'Wow, okay, that's the life you want to live,'” Longoria tells. She admitted to have been a little shaken up by Parker’s infidelity, but said she never gave herself a very hard time. "I had moments of like: 'OK, I'm not sexy enough? I'm not pretty enough? Am I not smart enough?' Then I immediately stopped. 'No, no, no – don't start doing that.' Because you can get stuck in that cycle and you can carry that on to other things."

Longoria instead decided to move on with her new boyfriend, Eduardo Cruz, the brother of Penelope Cruz. The actress is currently at a turning point in her career, as the last season of “Desperate Housewives”, the show that led to her stardom, off airs after 8 years. “I'm in a transitional state where I have no rules and I have no boundaries, and I don't really want to put those back up." Noting, "I feel like I am just getting started," Longoria said.

Eva said she is enjoying being single again and is happy to get her life back on track. The last episode of "Desperate Housewife" is slated to get on air on Sunday on ABC.
