During an interlude in his home in Chappaqua, New York, in August last, Bill Clinton had suggested to his wife Hillary Clinton that she chuck the job of US Secretary of State and, instead, contest in the 2012 US Presidential elections.
Bill Clinton’s apparent intention was to pull the rug from under the feet of Barak Obama because, in his opinion, Obama was not only ‘incompetent’ but an ‘amateur’ as well and Hillary understood politics much better than Obama did.
He also had, apparently, commented that due to Obama’s policies, the US economy was in a mess, and that the USA had lost its Triple ‘A’ rating.
It seems their daughter Chelsea also sided with her father and wanted Hillary to contest.
Hillary had brushed aside these suggestions and had talked of loyalty - to which Bill had retorted that loyalty is a joke and that it does not exist in politics.
These glimpses into the lives of the Presidents have been unraveled in Edward Klein’s new biography of Obama called ‘The Amateur’.
A White House spokesman has rubbished these claims as also has the spokesman of Bill Clinton.
This has been reported in mailonline dated 12th of May 2012.
The two of them had, actually, clashed earlier in 2008 during Hillary Clinton’s bid for the Presidency, which she finally lost to Barack Obama.
