Contraceptives - Immoral or not?

A lot of issues are being thrown at this sensitive topic. Even in local churches, there are a lot of debates whether the issue of the use of contraceptives is immoral or not? Different schools of reason have had their fair share of answering and defending their opinion on this topic but, what do we (as Christians) have to say to this sensitive issue?

As for me, the use of contraceptive is appropriate for the time and situation that we have right now in the Philippines. However, the use of contraceptives should be put in a proper and right perspective. To use contraceptives because you want to put a proper gap in the ages of your children or for family planning purposes, I will agree to that. But, to use contraceptives for personal selfish desires would be another thing.

The use of contraceptives should not be considered immoral because today, this is what we really need even though there are natural methods of family planning, but then, using contraceptives would be a lot easier and a lot more effective compared to the natural planning. However, there are also disadvantages that come with it. Tests show that women who use contraceptives are prone to certain diseases and complications. Read more
