Vidal Sassoon, the famed hair stylist reportedly died of unspecified illness on his Mulholland Drive estate in Los Angeles on Wednesday. But various media suggest that he was battling leukemia.
Sassoon, 84, was also diagnosed with leukemia in 2009, according to Los Angeles Times. The nature of his illness was not yet disclosed and an autopsy will still be conducted by authorities.
The fashion icon was born in Hammersmith, London on January 17, 1928 and eventually lived in the orphanage with his brother. He worked as a shampoo boy at the age of 14.See his profile here.
The famous hairdresser became popular for introducing the “bob haircut.” He was also described as "a rock star, an artist and a craftsman who “changed the world with a pair of scissors."
