Russian Sukhoi SuperJet-100 missing on test flight in Indonesia

A Russian super jet Sukhoi Superjet 100 while on flight demonstration in Indonesia was disappeared from the radar around 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon(Indonesia time) on Wednesday.

Speculations that the jet went to crashed as it disappeared and was never been found. The plane carrying 50 passengers including the 8 crew members. Among the passengers are member of the media, diplomats from Russian embassy in Jakarta and potential buyers.

The Russian super jet took off from Jakarta’s Halim Perdanakusuma Airport at about 2 PM local time and disappeared 20 minutes later. Helicopters dispatched on a search and rescue mission returned empty handed. Hijacking has not been ruled out.

The Russian jet trip was suppossedly the fourth stop as part of demonstartion mission as it took over for the new buyer. Among the stops are Myanmar, Pakistan and Kazakhstan and after Indonesia the next stops would be Laos and Vietnam.
