The singer recently gave an interview to 'Rolling Stone' and in it he made the public confession which has shaken the entertainment world. According to details, Tom Gabel also plans on becoming a woman and for that he will be undergoing hormone therapy, will be having electrolysis and eventually will also go for the sex change surgery.
In the interview, Tom Gabel admits that he never felt connected to his own body since the time he was a teenager and he actually suffers from a condition known as gender dyphoria, in which one does not identify with his or her own gender, instead, the person identifies with the gender opposite of their biological sex.

He said that he has been blessed with an amazing and understanding wife.
Tom Gabel also said that before this interview to Rolling Stone, very close friends and family knew about him being a transgender. "I'm going to have embarrassing moments, and that won't be fun," Gabel said of coming out, according to a report by mtv.com . "But that's part of what talking to you is about — is hoping people will understand, and hoping they'll be fairly kind."
As of yet, other members of Against Me! have not spoken about Tom Gabel's gender transition process but he himself has said something about that in the interview. Against Me! will be hitting the roads soon for a tour, but it is not clear whether Gabel will be joining them. When his gender transition process is complete, his voice will also change.
Tom Gabel's interview will be in Rolling Stone's May issue which will be hitting the stands on the 11th of May, 2012.
