Another Birthday and what have I learned...

From 9 to 12, I learned how to speak English and handle bullying. From 12 to 15, I learned true friendship. From 16 to 21, I learned how to party and have sex. From 22 to 28, I learned how to settle down, how to love, how to mistrust, how to care about others, how to be disciplined and how to communicate better. From 29 to 33 I learned how to have "checks and balances". From 34 until 40, I learned how to listen without giving advice or crap to those I heard, how to change without having to be changed by someone else, how to stop those that still bully me (how to stand up for myself), how to stop worrying so much about the things I cannot change, and, how to realize I was half-way though a life. From 40 until now I have realized how to worship my life on earth, how I want to be a complete capitalist now in order to help others (the poor) with my newly-found fortune, how to forgive (having a hard time with that one ;), how to stop wishing for a future time, how to recognize my failures and try to overcome them and how to learn to want to leave something worthwhile on this planet without just taking from it.

Most of all...I have learned...that there are stages in your life: Every 3 years, check back to see how much you have learned...you will ALWAYS be surprised at how much you have learned in the last 3-5 last years.

When I put myself in the shoes of the bullied kids, I think of them sitting at the anti-bullying assemblies praying that today is the day their bully will "get it" and realize how much it hurts to be bullied. Unfortunately, it's sad
