
Fat cat 'Meow' who became the most famous cat in United State weighing close to 40 pounds died over the weekend in New Mexico after starting to lose weight, reports Mail Online.
The average weight of a normal tabby cat is between 3.2 to 5.5 pounds for its age but this cat was very very large as Meow weighted exactly 39,10 pound.
The orange and white tabby , aged between 2 and 5 years old died after losing two pounds in its animal shelter ' The Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society' in New Mexico according to AP.
Still according to AP ,Meow, died last Saturday after complications from his obesity , the fat cat was owned by 87-year-old man in Santa Fe , New Mexico but due to his age he couldn't take care of him , so he sent Meow to animal shelter.
'We were in a race against time to get the weight off Meow before he developed complications from his obesity, and we lost.' said Mary Martin , the Shelter Director .
she added 'But we hope his fight will encourage other people to help their pets maintain the best health possible. Obesity is not something to be ignored.'
