UPC - ETSEIAT: creen el primer cotxe que funciona amb anelles de llaunes de refresc

With all the development into hybrids, electric cars and fuel cells, there’s no question that man is in the search for an alternative fuel to power our cars.

A group of Spanish engineers from the UPC-Barcelona Tech have created an ingenious remote controlled car that’s powered on the hydrogen produced by a few aluminum soda can tabs, water and sodium hydroxide.

What you see in the video is enough to power the car for 40 minutes at speeds of almost 20 mph.

It’s also called the dAlH2Orean, which is a very nice nod to some other alternatively-fueled wonder machine.
