Police say a body has been found in the backside area at Churchill Downs, a few barns away from where Kentucky Derby winner I'll Have Another is kept.
Alicia Smiley, Louisville police spokeswoman, says law enforcement was contacted Sunday morning with a report of a body being found at the Churchill Downs the morning after the Kentucky Derby. Police are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of death. No additional information is available at this time. The body was found near the barn where the Kentucky Derby winner was kept.
Last year, only one week after The Kentucky Derby, 24 year old jockey Michael Baze was found dead in his vehicle. Baze’s death was rules and accidental overdose. Baze was expected to appear on charges of cocaine possession two days following his death.
