Peshawar, Education has change the mind of Pushtoon people in Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province, but still there is more work for improvement. It’s the wording of local Hindu Ram Alias Kako, whose working as class four in our office.

Since 2 month Kako Ram work with our office I noted him, Ram, came to office early on time to office. Kako Ram washes the room and cleans all office, during working hour I never listen the voice of Kako Ram. Through this work he earned monthly 5 thousand Rupees monthly, Kako visit two times our office early morning late hour evening time for work.

Two week back I hear the voice of Kako Ram , who talking with our admin that he need two day off because on Holly Festival he want to visit Hasan Abdal with his family to celebrate his Religious Festival.

Yesterday during work I asked to Kako Ram “how is your life going, are you satisfied from your life “. 39 year old Kako Ram smile and reply to me “ Sir G , I don’t know the meaning of satisfying , but I earn money for my family and no need for debit from other people , Thanks God all gives by Almighty “ . It’s the wording of Hindu. Mostly Muslim people talks routine Thanks God, but I hear first time from Hindu, who’s live in Peshawar.

I didn’t say any thing about his wording but I asked what is the behavior of Muslim with you as Hindu, because you from minority. Kako Ram said our family belongs to Mardan, but now we were living in Peshawar city, mostly Hindu minority live in Kohati Gate, Peshawar cantt and Civil Kohat Road Peshawar. He adds that more then 300 Hindu minorities live in Peshawar, but they were in bad position.

Kako Ram said the people of Mardan District really nice, we live together with Muslim and they never treat us that we are Hindu, but compare to Mardan in Peshawar District which is the capital city of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province. The people were harsh, some time people called us “Kafir, Hindu, but we didn’t feel that because people who’s using harsh language have no education.

People whose are well educated they didn’t discuss these things , according to Kako Ram one of my son now in Abbot Abad at Hostel , whenever his education complete I will sent him to Delhi with relative for more education and business.

According to Kako Ram the main problem in Pakistan with minorities that no body give us government job , we have our own quota but political people interfere in recruitment so we didn’t find any job here in any government institution. Kako Ram further said that Bahari Lal, whose was minority member national assembly of Pakistan during Benazir Regime, he started Housing colony for your in Mardan, but after the death of Bahari Lal all works stop and still minorities facing housing in KP Province.
