The famous Kentucky Derby will be run for the 138th time on Saturday at Churchill Downs, but the excitement and celebrations have already begun. This event is not just known for its horse race, but there are also various age-old traditions that have made it so popular over the years.

Horse-race enthusiasts and celebrities gather from all parts of the country to savor the Derby atmosphere. The mint julep, an iced drink consisting of bourbon, mint and sugar syrup, is the traditional beverage of the race. The historic drink can be served in an ice-frosted silver julep cup, but most Churchill Downs patrons sip theirs from souvenir glasses printed with all previous Derby winners. Also, burgoo, a thick stew of beef, chicken, pork and vegetables, a popular Kentucky dish, is served at the Derby.

To mark this year’s celebrations, one of the first few parties was hosted as Friday's Barnstable Brown Party in Louisville. It was one of the most elite and glamorous Derby Eve celebrations, as Ashton Kutcher was seen in attendance having a good time with Miranda Lambert with other celebrities also present at the party.

According to, even though Ashton Kutcher poked fun at Miranda Lambert, she later talked about her time with him, tweeting, along with a photo, "here it is y’all. He is sweet and lives country music! For real!:)"

Ashton Kutcher arrived with other fellows, but he was the star of the event, as many people had their eyes glued on him. He brought a lot of oomph to the party and some ladies couldn’t stop checking him out. This includes EPSN's Erin Andrews, who "was so checking him out. Like, 100 percent."

Ashton Kutcher arrived at the party late around 10 p.m. and was wearing a black suit and a white, opened-collar shirt. He posed briefly for photos before being escorted into the party. He seemed to be in a very good mood, as he kept on posing around for pictures and shook hand with admirers. At some point in the party, he lost his cell phone. It isn’t confirmed whether he later found it or not.

This party was also attended by other famous celebrities including Kellan Lutz, Tom Brady, Gisele Bündchen, Joey Fatone, Cyndi Lauper, and Boys II Men.
