In a move that is near and dear to my heart the state of Arizona, of which I am a native, has yet again passed a controversial bill in which federal funding would be banned from placed that allow or support abortions. Places such as Planned Parenthood that informs in need teens about pregnancy and abortion.

Arizona has a history of passing controversial bills, such as the Immigration law which allows police officers to check the validity of a citizens nationality based on their appearance rather than actions that would before had been illegal. In a measure that has people up in arms about the police racial profiling based on how they look rather than acts that are illegal, the bill was shortly shot down as to its controversial nature.
This law has become the low point in my profile, every time I tell people where I am from. There is a certain facial recognition for the thought that passes through their minds, something that says oh you are from the racist country that doesn’t allow a woman the freedom to choose.
Yeah that is where I am from now, the place that racially discriminates and takes away the very right of choice from a girl whom might not be ready to choose between the life and death of their unborn baby. But crucial organizations such as Planned Parenthood bring her the proper knowledge about the gravity of her situation. The reality of having to choose between keeping her child, and giving it up.
In some circumstances I know that getting rid of the child might be better than actually keeping it. If all the argument is that the girl was lazy and unknowable when it comes to the right contraception, than that argument is the worst I have ever heard. The reason for her lack of an education on the use of condoms and the birth control pill derives from the very same forces that are trying to cut off federal funding for the organizations such as Planned Parenthood.
It is the religious conservative politicians that believe that their hard earned tax money is going towards paying for abortions. It is this very influential force that is allowing these bills to be passed, because of the short sightedness of those who believe that a single woman with a minimum wage job is better of raising a child on welfare than having a child when she is in a better financial situation.
We need to educate the youth about protective measures with sex, and abortion. Cutting off the federal funding for Planned Parenthood will drive under aged pregnancies through the roof, keeping them under the poverty line and a further burden on society.
