Quebec Students Strips Down To Protest Tuition Hikes in Montreal

Thousands of Quebec students took to the streets of downtown Montreal to protest against tuition hikes on Thursday May 3 after calls spread through Facebook, reports AFP.

Protesters had gathered at Place Emilie Gamelin Park near Berri-UQAM (Montreal Metro), men wearing only their underwear while women protest topless covering their nipples with red ribbon or painted their private parts to avoid arrest .

"We want the same transparency from the government as we are symbolically showing today," student told CTV Montreal.

While another said "The students that are protesting today are the workers of tomorrow, so we are responsible and our voices have to be heard,"
