The Duke of Cambridge is all set to mark his 30th birthday on 21st June, 2012 as a personal landmark year, in a unique manner at the Thirty Club at Claridges, London on Tuesday night.
Prince William will be addressing UK’s top advertising and media fraternity at the highly private and elite dining club of UK. The Thirty Club is understood to attract biggies like Rupert Murdoch, former BBC and ITV Chairman Lord Grade, and film producer Lord Puttnam.
By giving a speech at the elite club, Prince William will be aspiring to emulate his late mother Princess Diana and his grandfather Prince Philip did before at the Thirty Club. Of course the Duke will be accompanied by his lovely wife Kate Middleton, who will be watching him make the speech.
Since it is going to be a private engagement, St James’s Palace is not ready to divulge what exactly the Prince will be speaking on when he turns thirty next month. One senior royal stated: “He’s been invited for about the last nine years but thought it right to accept the invitation this year as he has this personal landmark coming up and it is such a landmark year for the Royal Family in general.”
The invitees to the exclusive dinner include the Premier of the State of South Australia, Jay Weatherill. During the course of the dinner, the premier plans on inviting the royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton to visit Adelaide.
This information let slip from Weatherill, who is in Britain on a week-long trade trip. The Australian premier, earlier this week disclosed that he would be meeting Prince William and Kate Middleton when the Prince addresses a select business group.
Without naming the Thirty Club, Weatherill informed “It will be a small, private function, and I’m sure I’ll have the opportunity to speak with the Prince (William).” On being queried if he would invite Prince William and Kate Middleton to South Australia, he replied: “I think I’ll be doing that.”
On her part, Kate Middleton is all set to give husband Prince William an extra special birthday present this year, namely an exquisite painting of her-self commissioned dotingly by her father-in-law Prince Charles. For the painting, Duchess Kate is understood to have secretly visited royal artist Nicky Philips’ London studios about four times. Prince William must be looking forward to receiving this wonderful gift from his wife of one year.
