Authorities of Texas have found three small houses in Edinburg on the border of Mexico which held as many as 115 illegal immigrants locked in them as reported in BBC dated the 4th of May 2012.
The police came on the scene based on a message transmitted from inside by one of the inmates.
The properties had padlocks and chains on its outer doors and gave an impression of being empty. The police had to use bolt-cutters to break open the padlocks and cut through the chains.
The 115 persons had been brought in via the Rio Grande River which is the border between Mexico and the USA and had no food or water for three days.
Some of them had fallen sick and were in need of immediate medical treatment.
Prima facie it appears that these persons from south and Central America were held as prisoners against their will.
