Pakistan bomb blast killed 20, dozens wounded

Today’s bomb blast in northwest Pakistan left 20 people dead including three policemen and 45 wounded on a police checkpoint. The insurgent group in the country claimed responsibility of the attack.

A suicide bomber struck a crowded market in Bajaur, a tribal region near the Afghan borders. According to Reuters, the Taliban was behind the attack as confirmed by the groups’ spokesman, Ehsanullah Ehsan.

In a bid to topple the Pakistan government, the Taliban often launched attack that killed many civilians and security forces.

"We carried out the attack today. We are very happy that we have achieved our target," said Ehsan.
